Rock the Dots! Fibroblast Skin Tightening ⚡
⚡ Rock the Dots! Fibroblast Skin Tightening ⚡
If you’ve found yourself googling “alternative to botox”, “non-surgical facelift”, “blepharoplasty”, “skin tightening” or “skin rejuvenation”, you’re likely unhappy with portions of your appearance but are nervous to go under the knife or receive injections.
At Take It Off, we are fans of it all! PDO threads, botox, filler, fibroblast, surgical intervention, and progressive treatments like micro-needling and chemical peels.
The thing we consider during consultations is that not every client is a suitable candidate for every single procedure; likewise, not every procedure is something every client will feel comfortable doing.
We work closely with an injector who provides botox, filler, PDO threads, Kybella (an injectable that targets and destroys fat cells beneath the chin), and sometimes what our clients are looking for simply cannot be achieved under our scope of practice as a Certified Advanced Esthetician.
We are always honest with our clients who are looking for the quick, dramatic change that surgical intervention provides. For those who are open to progressive treatments, we are able to provide slow and steady results, with far fewer risks of complications, shorter downtime, and often much cheaper than visiting a plastic surgeon.
Fibroblast skin tightening is a relatively new treatment, using a plasma device that works by using the voltage in the air between its tip and the natural gasses emitted just above the skin to form a true “plasma” (ionized gas) charge.
This tiny arc of electricity shortens, contracts, and tightens targeted skin tissue instantly. Your skin’s natural healing cascade gets to work and tells your body to create new fibroblast cells which are responsible for developing collagen to enhance natural volume and elastin for tighter skin. Any area with loose skin can be treated with a fibroblast plasma pen and utilizing a special technique, we can also address sun spots, large pores, overall skin rejuvenation, and even skin tag removal!
Who is a good candidate for fibroblast skin tightening?
Candidates with a low Fitzpatrick level (I-III) are prime candidates for this treatment. People with darker skin tones may not be good candidates due to a higher risk of hyper or hypo-pigmentation. People with certain skin conditions may also not be prime candidates. A consultation is required prior to this treatment so our technician may access your skin and suitability and discuss realistic expectations from this treatment. Younger clients will not see as dramatic results as clients who are more mature with more intense skin laxity but will still see beautiful skin rejuvenation with fibroblast skin tightening treatments.
One of the most common fibroblast skin tightening procedures is the non-surgical blepharoplasty or non-surgical eye-lift. The average cost of cosmetic eyelid surgery is $4,120, according to 2020 statistics from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Compare that with a fibroblast skin tightening treatment that treats upper and lower eyes, crows’ feet, brow lift, and 11’s for just $1,100!
Comparing downtime in surgery vs fibroblast is also a big selling point: when going under the knife for a surgical blepharoplasty, your eyelid may be swollen and bruised for 1 to 3 weeks after surgery, the appearance of your eye may continue to get better for 1 to 3 months, and most people feel ready to go out in public and back to work in about 10 to 14 days.
Compare that with a fibroblast skin tightening treatment for eyelids, and swelling is generally just 3-5 days, with plasma “dots” falling off at about day 7-10. Clients can wear makeup at day 3, and results gradually get better and better up to the 12-week mark!
Other areas that fibroblast skin tightening can target are the submentum (under chin), which often is left with lax skin after Kybella, cool sculpting, or dramatic weight loss; breast skin after nursing babies or after dramatic weight loss; hands that have sunspots and loose skin due to age and/or sun damage; smokers lines around lips, neck lifts for lax skin due to sun damage and aging.
To sum it up, we are huge fans of all aesthetic procedures — botox, filler, PDO threads, micro-needling, chemical peels, lasers, kybella, and plastic surgery — but here at Take It Off, we are so excited to offer this non-invasive, non-surgical, low-risk, short-downtime alternative to injections and surgery with fibroblast skin tightening.
